From my grandmother's scrapbook, an undated newspaper clipping: Miss Lena Mae Belisle, of this city (probably Ft. Gaines), and Mr. Leo Melvin, of Blakely, Ga., took their families and friends by surprise, when they were quietly married in Abbeville, Ala., last Sunday afternoon, leaving at once for Blakely. Even Mr. and Mrs. Hoke Houson, who were witnesses to the ceremony, were unaware of their intention to wed until they had reached Abbeville and started in search of the ordinary, to procure their license. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. I. P. Belisle, of this city, and was a student at the city schools. She had a host of friends among the younger social set. Mr. Melvin is emp -----torn here ---mill at Blake ---- My grandparents were Hoke & Lucille Houston, who married in 1932. I don't know anything further about the Belisle's.
