Verdonck family from Mortsel, Antwerp
Posted by: Geraldine Courtney (ID *****1507) Date: November 27, 2011 at 02:10:30

I am researching a family named Verdonck for a friend whose mother was Belgian. She died when he was a year old and the family, who had never approved of their daughter's marriage, cut off all links and have never known their grandson. His mother was named Anna Louisa Henrietta and her parents were Ludaviceus and Josephina Verdonck. Anna was born in 1906 and may have a sister Rosa/Rosalie. She married a Frederick Marx who was British. If anyone recognises this family or can tell me where one can direct queries to in Mortsel for general information regarding certificates for birth etc,or advice, I would be most grateful.
