Richard,

Gouvernement records in Belgium are only public older than 1900. Antwerp city records are public from 1925 and older. So you see what quandrum we have in Belgium to help you. The only way i can thinck for you to follow, is looking into geneanet, search for Bruynseels and ask each contact if they have something on your ancester. marying a Scottish lady might ring a bell!
