Victor, you have 15 years on me chronologically and 44 on me in geneology.
Your opinion on naming children is right on. I had my children at an age where there was more of a future than a past, but I was old enough to at least give them maternal and fraternal last names. In this country it has only caused them problems.
Anyway, I very much agree with you even though I didn't listen so much to my mother's wisdom when I was young.
I do have a question; Why is the name Joseph used in both male and female in Belgium. Females have it as a middle name from what I see even with my own ancestors.
Also, has it been easy for you to trace your own ancestry? How far back have you gone?
Reta
