On this site you may be able to find ancestors of this person. Their ancestors very probably came from Western Flanders. Note though that there are several variations in the family-name. "VAN" sometimes is missing, WYCK sometimes is written as WIJK or WIJCK, VAERN could be VAERE or VAEREN and so on. http://www.vrijwilligersrab.be/page2.asp - it's in English
These pages start somewhere around 1600 and end around 1900 but there are gaps, not all vilages are completed.
