Translation usual Flemisch letter:
Dear children,
It’s now time to sent you two tickets.I waited so long to assure you that now the "silly" winds on sea aren’t so strong anymore. All you have to do is go to Antwerp with your two tickets. When you are there you ask for the road to the Schelde (= river where the harbour of Antwerp is situated) where the steamboats are docked. There you ask for Adolph Strauss. Everybody knows him. Show him this letter en your two tickets and he will tell you when you leave.
Now you have to go to the secretary of Steenhuffel (= place where they probably lived). Ask him to make your "question" letter, so everybody can know when you were born. This can be helpful later. Bring as much as you can with you, but especially you have to bring a book with you for my brother Louis. In Flemish it is called “atlas”. It is a book that describes the world. The children use it a lot in schools. Don’t forget to do this.If you can’t find it in Steenhuffel I’m sure you find it in Dendermonde. It costs one franc, maybe two.
