My limited attempts to do some research on Belgium, suggests that very few BMD or Census records have been made available on the Web.
Regarding Eckhout and variations, using familysearch returns over 200 results, did not follow right through.
Within the Netherlands, Noorde/North Netherlands cropped up, thus pointing away from Belgium to the south.
If you have not already done so, another site to try is-
www.ellisislandrecords.org
You may be able to get more definite information on their origins and destinations; but be careful not to confuse the ship's departure port with the origins of your Eckhouts.
