In 1934, Belgium issued a stamp to honor the Flemish composer, Peter Leonard Leopold BENOIT born in Flanders August 17, 1834 and died March 8, 1901 at Antwerp. The stamp was issued to raise funds with which to erect a monument to his memory. The stamp had a value of 75c and additional charge 25c. The central design was a portrait of the composer and below that his signature. I am not related to this person.
