The wallones were interesting people. They lived in the southern part of Belgium, but the left around 1550-1560. They had to leave to continue having their reformed religion. Also they were protestants in the wrong place at the wrong time in history. Some came to Sweden very early working in mine industry. My ancestors left and lived somewere from 1550 to 1650. But were? Around 1650 we find them in Palatinate (Pfalz), Germany, they move on to Mannheim and through Magdeburg they came to Brandenburg, north of Berlin. In 1720-1721 they came to Fredericia, Denmark as "the Kings colonists". They were often farmers and grew tobacco outside Mannheim, in Brandenburg and in Fredericia. They were mostly farmers living in a town. Some weawers were also among them. The history of the Swedish is only in the biginning the same as the Danish I think. I am interested in contact with people, who know about the protestat wallones leaving Hainaut and Artois area in now Belgium, earler known as The spanish Netherlands.
