Came Wm Shae esqr in behalf of the State & Zachariah Taliaferro in behalf of defendant, who being arraigned & upon his Indictment pleads not Guilty. Whereupon came a Jury Towit Moses Meek foreman, James Veal, Stephen Howard, Zachariah Belue, John Garrot, Waterman Boatman, Charles Humphries, Arther Brandon, William White, David Crownover and Richardson Rountree, who on their several oaths do say, "We find the defendant Guilty." Whereupon the Court proceeded to pass Sentence on the Defendant John Thompson, and Ordered that he pay to the clerk of this court immediately the sum of Ten pounds sterling, or receive on his bare back five lashes Tomorrow morning at nine OClock. The Defendant John Thompson came accordingly into open Court and paid the sum of Ten pounds agreeable to the above Order, and was therefore acquitted on paying of Costs.

Belue, Alexr Kendrick, Amos Cook, & Joseph Randol appeared & brought in their Verdict Sealed as Ordered yesterday and say we find for the plaintiff 15 pds & costs. John Crittenden, foreman. Its considered that the above verdict is not legal (on accoung of the absence of the two Jurors)
Its therefore Ordered that Thomas Young & Philip Bass be summoned to appear at our next court to shew cause if any they have why an attachment should not issue against them for a contempt of this court in refusing to appear in open Court with the other Jurors to deliver in thier Verdict as they were ordered.

Zachariah Belue Reuben Belue & Renny Belue being appointed Executors to the last Will and Testament of Renny Belue Senr came into open Court & took the Oath required by Law as Executors accordingly.

Keziah Belue & Reuben Belue executrix & Executor to the above will came forward & took the Oath prescribed by Law. Ordered that Wm Morgan, Saml Harlan & Geo. Harland hatter appraise the estate & Effects of Renny Belue Jnr decd and make due return according to Law to be firest sworn by some Justice. Signed Thos Brandon, Wm Kennedy.
