Whereas Renny Belew the elder, late of the County but now District of Union dec'd was in his lifetime and at the time of his death possessed of certain lands, which by his will dated 17 Dec 1797 executed & proven in the county court of Union and recorded in Book No 1, pg 84, directed that the lands be sold and appoint his three sons Zach'y Belew, Reubin Belew & Renny Belew Jun'r his exrs., all of whom qualified, and whereas the said Reubin Belew & the said Renny Belew the younger have also since that time departed this life whereas the execution of the will hath devolved solely on the said Zachariah Belew, now said Zach'h Belew having duly advertised on 28 Nov 1807 exposed to sale the several tracts of land, now for $700 sold to William Rice, Esquire, he being the highest bidder, tract at the time of the original survey in Anson County, North Carolina, but now in Union District on north side Fairforrest, 200 acres, part of tract granted to Saml Young for 520 acres, and by indenture 2 Dec 1764 conveyed to one Danl Plummer, which said 100 acres conveyed 12 Dec 1769 by said Danl Plummer to said Renny Belew the elder deceased; also tract in Craven County now in Union District on the branches of Fair forrest Creek adj the aforesaid tract, 50 acres, part of tract granted to said Renny Belew 5 May 1773, 250 acres. 11 Dec 1807. Whereas Reubin Belew, sadler, late of Union District deceased by his will dated 5 Oct 1806 recorded in Book A, pg 110 bequeathed to his loving wife Mary Belew a plantation whereon he then lived, and said Mary Belew has become desirous to comply with the conditions as specific in said will, and sold to the highest bidder, Mary Belew executrix to the will of said Reubin Belew (the executor Wm. Palmer as named in said will having removed from the limits of said state), did on 3 Sep 1814 expose to sale, now for $300 to Hosea Belew, 150 acres, which said Reubin Belew purchased of John Insco, adj Jonathan Parker, Hillory Guy, 30 Sep 1814.
