Honaker, VA – Dallas Lee Belcher, 81, of the New Garden
Road section, passed away Monday, February 16, 2009, in a
Lebanon, VA, hospital.
Born May 17, 1927, in Russell Co VA, he was a son of the
late Curtis and Carrie Gilbert Belcher. A lifelong resident
of the area, he was a member of the Miller View Primitive
Baptist Church and Finney Senior Citizens. He was currently
employed at Food City in Lebanon, VA, and was a farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by
his first wife, Evangeline Belcher; one son, Arthur Edward
Belcher; and one brother, Ballard Belcher.
Survivors include his wife, Rita J. Belcher of the home;
one son, David Lewis Belcher of Abingdon, VA; three
brothers, Lloyd Belcher and wife Nina, Raymond Belcher and
wife Shirley, and Raynard Belcher and wife Adeline, all of
Honaker, VA; stepdaughter, Treva Fay Austin and husband
Bob of Darlington, MD; and several nieces and nephews and
many friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday,
February 18, 2009, in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel,
Honaker, with Elder Garnell Gilbert, Elder Noah Kim
Edwards, Elder George B. Combs and Elder Danny Smith
officiating.
Interment will follow in Russell Memorial Cemetery at
Lebanon, VA. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home
after 6 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2009.
Pallbearers will be Barry Belcher, Larry Belcher, Ronnie
Belcher, R. C. Sauls, Benny Martin, Fred Honaker and Jim
McGlothlin.
Honaker Funeral Home is serving the Belcher family.
