Opal was definitely not MARRIED to Red. Who knows whether or not there was some relation, though. Red's only wife was my great grandmother, Allie Coggins. We did learn, however, upon her death, that he did have an illigitimate child with one of the Ewing girls (who would have also been his step-sister). The family expected him to marry her, and when he didn't, and married Allie instead, he became estranged from the family. He is oddly buried in Cuthand cemetery, instead of the Belcher cemetery, because there was not close contact with the family at the time of his death. Do you have any idea when he and Opal were supposedly an item? He and Allie were married in 1932, and to my knowledge, his "wild oats" were sown before her. Of course, I know that you never know!
