Actually, the one who got his ear cut off was Colonel Alford Belcher (aka Kernal Alfred), and his brother, Red (Clarence Kirksey Belcher) was the one who killed the bootlegger. Clarence was my great grandfather. Red was later arrested for this crime by my great great grandfather, Lee Coggins. I thought that Edward Glenn was a descendant of Jim Belcher, and would have been a cousin to Red and Colonel. Is her family the line that still owns the land with the cemetery that used to belong to Old George Belcher? If so, then she is definitely a descendant of Jim. His grandson, through his daughter, Dink, is the primary owner of the land. I was just up there this spring, and they've sure done a lot to the cemetery to make it look really nice. Great to meet you online!

Laine Marlowe Delfelder

PS I am the daughter of Kay Sheffield Marlowe, who is the daughter of Frances Belcher Sheffield, who was the daugter of Clarence Kirksey "Red" Belcher, who was the son of John Wesley Belcher, son of Big George Belcher.
