Joseph F. Belcher, b ca. 1810 in Floyd Co Ky, died ca. 1896 in Kan Co WV. He married Nancy Ramey 5 April 1831 in Pike Co Ky and lived on Campbell's Creek, Kan Co WV. One account indicates he owned a mill (grist mill?) on that creek, which he lost while defending three of his sons who were charged with a murder that occurred in or near the mill pond. Can anyone point me toward court or newspaper records concerning this incident? Looks like the three most likely sons would be James K. b ca. 1840, George "Dock" b ca. 1848 and John "Coffee" b ca. 1854. I don't have a date for the incident. Thanks in advance for your help.
