On the Belcher-Barnett connection, I searched and found the following that might be of some help:

1. The 1785 petition to form Russell Co, VA lists Alexander Barnett and three Belcher men: George, Thomas, and Robert.

2. The 1820 census of Russell Co, VA lists James Barnett and four Belcher men: James, William, John, and Jesse.

3. The 1830 census of Russell Co, VA list James Barnett and four Belcher men: Bartley, William, Jesse, and John.

My ancestors were George Belcher and son James Belcher listed above. I don’t know of any of their female descendents marrying a Barnett, although it is possible. Perhaps the Mary/Elizabeth Belcher you are trying to find was a daughter of either Thomas or Robert Belcher mentioned above. I believe George, Thomas, and Robert were related, possibly brothers, sons of Isham Belcher.
