I am searching for anyone who has an ELIZABETH and or MARY BELCHER in their family tree that married a JAMES BARNETT/BARNETTE in the early 1800's.
My great grandfather was WILLIAM MORGAN BARNETTE b. 4-16-1832 Va d. 8-31-1917 Castlewood Russell Co Va. He was married twice and lived in Morgan Co. Ky and Green, Scioto Ohio and Russell Co. Va. His death records states that his parents were a JAMES BARNETTE & MARY BELCHER.
I believe that he had a number of siblings or cousins. One of them being a JAMES RUSSELL BARNETT b.1829 Va. d. 8-29-1917 Elliot Ky. His death records lists his parents as JAMES BARNETT & ELIZABETH BELCHER
WILLIAM, JAMES RUSSELL and a GEORGE BARNETT lived in Morgan Co Ky in 1860 and are found on the census, WILLIAM & GEORGE same household and RUSSELL next door.
There is a FRANCES BARNETT b. 1823 Va. who married a JOHN H. RAMSEY ( a descendant of JOEL RAMSEY & ABIGAIL FREEMAN) b. 1819 Russell Co Va. They lived in Morgan Co Ky in 1850 and in their household is a RUSSELL BARNETT.
