John Adams birthplace built by Samuel Belcher

In doing research on the Belcher family, I have come across the following and wonder if anyone else knows where this can be verified: According to some accounts John Adams was taught in a dame school by his neighbor Mrs. Belcher. Also, the house that John Adams was born and raised in was built by Samuel Belcher. The house still stands today in Quincy, Massachusetts which was Braintree, Massachusetts when the structure was built. Anybody else know anything about this????
