Hi

My dad Charles Ernest Belcher died in February 2000 having left little or no history about the family, except that his generation originated from the East End of London where his father was a locomotive fireman on the dock railways.

His descendants are me and 2 brothers and we have spread -- I live in Sussex, my elder brother lives in Devon and my younger brother in Cornwall.

Our own children are all UK based, except for my eldest daughter Dayle Janet Bielski, who now lives in New Zealand.

We have carried out little research -- but apparently the Belcher name originates in an area of France, the Dordoigne I'm told, where we were onion growers...

Do you know more?
