John Wesley Owens married a Martha J. Belch August 4, 1897 in Gates Co. It lists her Parents as Secarow & Nellie J. Belch. I don't know if this is connected to your Martha but I have found that a side of the Mathews family had moved to Chowan Co. and when i get a chance i'll be focusing my attentions in that directions.
