So Aykow can be an actual name meaning Jakob?
And yes, on her naturalization papers, it only lists Minsk, Russia as place of birth. For the port she left from, it lists Libau Latvia and not Liverpool.
The brother in law makes sense, because I know she had a sister. I don't know the sisters name though. I wish I had more information but it looks like the Ellis Island manifest is the only document that lists a more specific place. Now, if only I can figure out what it is supposed to be.
Have you any ideas on Vasiliy Pyz? At least I know he's from Klinok. My second cousin has a graduation certificate of his from elementary school in Russia so that's how we know. He was never naturalized so I don't have any papers for him. What may help is that I know his younger brother was executed and buried in Slutsk. I don't know if the cemetery there would have any information about the parents but I really don't know how to go about finding anymore information about the Pyz family. In Russian, it's actually pronounced Pyzh.
