Some good news. I did find my Great-Grandfather and his family on the 1930 Federal Census. His name was listed as Borus Simonowich with his wife listed as Mary, and children John W. (my grandpa) and his sister Hanna P. It further states that Borus (Boris) was born in Russia and was Naturalized. Mary was born in Virginia and her parents in Russia. Boris could neither read nor write which may be part of the name problem with immigration records. It states that my grandfather's native tongue was slovak? States that year of immigration is 1916. It states he was able to speak english and that he was a Meat Trimmer. It states that he was 40 y.o. at time of census and Mary was 26 y.o. The street number is missing for their residence but it's on Venable St. in Richmond, VA.

At least this is more than I had before. However, all of this being said, that negates all of the previous information I have found as far as census records go. I have mailed off the form and check to get the SS-5 form.

Again, thanks for all of your assistance!

-Joseph M. Simonowich, Jr.
