Melgui/Mieljog from Malinowsky...from Tatarsky

My grandmother told us that her parents Alexander Malinowksi and Pauline Macinek owned a large hog farm in Tatarska/Tatarsky/Tatarski (verified by ship manifests for all family members..Minsk Gub). She told me her mother was Russian and father Polish. She said that when “the soldiers” came they took away the farm, killed her father and changed everyone’s name in the village of Tatarsk to Mielguj/Meilog/Melgui (several different spellings, the first one is on her passport)because their original name was too difficult to spell.

I have not found access to any records verifying the family name or history in Europe. I would love to know our true family name and history. Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated!
