Hi,
I am working on my husband's family tree and have hit a wall with his mother's line. Her father's family immigrated from Russia/Lithuania in 1906. Her grandfather was William Waywocky (b. Abt 1878) married to Domenica Ronuska (b. Abt 1878) They immigrated in 1906 after the birth of their daughter Alena. On his Naturalization papers his name is spelled Wayewocky but their name was originally very different in spelling and or sound. There son Vincent Waywocky (1913-1973) married a Marianna Waitkins (b. Abt 1914). Marianna Waitkins' parents were also from Russia (we think Lithuania) Marianna's parents names were Dominick Waitkins (b. Abt 1877) and Agata Naliwaika (b. Abt 1889). The story is that William Waywocky came to the US first and later helped his family sneak out - possibly why the name was changed. We are not sure of the original name but we wonder if it might have been Babitskii. Any help you could toss my way would be wonderful.
