She is probably Russian Orthodox??? In Russian, Pravoslavnaya.

Is Eugenia from Minsk, the regional center city or from one of the many villages in the region? Knowing her exact place of birth is critical to locating records. This
is a non-digitized world you are researching, on top of which, given the dates, you will probably have to obtain a PRIVACY RELEASE thru the Belarus Embassy or Consulate.

Does Evgenia have a birth certificate? That should tell us specifically where she was born. If we could ascertain exact place of origin, I could probably put you in touch with someone in Minsk, who could make an inquiry call to her birthplace and ask re her brother.

I hate to sound pessimistic, but between Chernobyl and alcohol, the average life expectancy of males in this region is 62. That is if he survived WW2.
