Hello Hania and thanks for responding to my request. I just now asked Eugenia what religion her parents practiced in Minsk but her accent is so heavy that I just cannot understand what she is saying. One thing for sure they were not of the Jewish religion. When I asked her if they attended a Jewish Church she shook her head very hard meaning no they did not. Maybe Catholic? I have since found in an old pocketbook belonging to Eugenia a birth certificate. It says she was born to Franz Leanowicz and Maria Juskewitsch on Oct. 18, 1924. It says that her grandfather on her mother's side is Mischka Juskewitsch. Do you know of any way I could find a birth record for Eugenia's brother who was born around 1929? His first name sounds like "Chezik" but I know that isn't spelled right. He was born in Minsk also. I have also found in that "old pocketbook" a birth record for Eugenia's first child born in Germany. On this record Eugenia's maiden name is spelled Leonowitch. So I don't know the correct spelling. Eugenia came to USA in late 1940"s after the War I guess. She is now in a nursing home and that's where I became aware that she wants to find her brother before she dies. Let me know please if there is anyway I can find this man. Thanks, Dorothy Notify Administrator about this message?
