Yes - I think Linda is correct.

My family is also from Kobrin (Kobryn), about 40 miles east of Brest, the border city between Poland and Belarus. I've been there twice - once in 1975, and again in 1990. A beautiful Belarussian village, very old, on the Muchavets River. Today about 26,000 population. Jim Sazevich, St. Paul, Minnesota
