Hi Suzanne, As your post re: names was quite some time In ago, I suspect you have received many responses by now. But just in case you haven't, here it goes: Louis = Leib It is important to remember that there is frequently no specific tranliteration of names. It was not uncommom for a person to choose an American name that sounded like their real name. For example: Chaim = Hyman + Herman. In addition a Hebrew name and a secular name may have no more in common than the first letter of the name. This has always been a problem for genealogists. Good luck and good hunting.
