Hi Ms. Weisberg, My name is Tiffany BUKOFFSKY and I'm looking to find out where my last name came from. I have been searching on the Internet for hours now and what I have found is my ancestors' last name could have been spelled BUKOFSKY. My family and I have always thought that our name sounded Russian, but we always thought we were mostly Polish. However, I found by looking on the Ellis Island Immigration History that about seven people with the name of BUKOFSKY came to the States in the early 1900s. Most of these seven came from Russia, to my surprise. A couple others came from Hungary and Austria. I am VERY interested in this, especially since I am taking a Clothing and Culture class at Ohio University and we have a project of finding our history and exploring our culture. I am not sure if these BUKOFSKY relatives ARE, in fact mine, however I do have a good feeling about it! I tried looking for BUKOFFSKY specifically, but my only findings are of those that are my immediate family! If you have ANY information at all that may help with my findings, will you PLEASE email me back?? I know that my grandmother has really been into our geneology, however it is my grandfather (who has passed away) who I received the BUKOFFKSY name from. I REALLY hope you can help me out! I am definitely on a mission now!! Thank you so much for you time and I look forward to hearing from you! Sincerly, Tiffany Bukoffsky Notify Administrator about this message?
