Chrysostome & Louise Godin

Someone once emailed me and try to prove to me that Pierre Paul and Claire Founier were not his parents. They stated it didn't make sense as the marriage was too far away from where Chrysostome was born. They had a point there but what if they had moved before Chrysostome got married???? Here is what I find and don't find.

These are the birth records of Pierre Pauls children I could find.

Pierre 10/2/1743
Marie Claire 2/18/1746
Marie Judith 11/28/1751
Antoine 8/8/1753
Henri Marie 9/14/1754
Marie 10/5/1755
Emmanuel 3/11/1757

What I didn't find was Chrysostomes birth but does that mean he isn't a child....No.

If you notice from 1751 to 1757 they were popping out kids on a regular basis but not from 1743 to 1751. They may have moved around.

Now back to thier argument, What if they moved to Yamaska before 1776, which Berthierville is a short distance.

I have a marriage record for Marie Claire who married Antoine Cotnoir May 27, 1766 at St. Michel D'Yamaska

This would be just as long of a trip as Chrysostome would have had to make unless they Lived in Yamaska. Which Chrysostome married his wife in Berthierville and moved to Yamaska which suggests he lived there.

After finding this I will stand by with what Loiselle wrote down in the marriage index.

Dave
