Dear Ann,

Do you mean to say that you knew all along that the Bejarano family is Jewish? Was your branch still practising Judaism until recently?
There can be no doubt that there is a family called Bejarano which is indeed a Sephardic family, and originated in Bejar, Salamanca, Spain. I have asked myself how probable it is that there is another non-Jewish family by the same name. I think it is quite implausible, as Jews often based their surname on the place of origin and Bejar has always been a small town.
Any clues about your own branch in this respect?

Titus
