Inquisition & Cruelty of Bull-fighting

The Bejarano family has a long history which roots in the Jewish Aljama of Bejar, Salamanca. From there it spread to many countries and in many cases it stayed loyal to its Jewish roots and background. Members like Esther Bejarano of Hamburg heroically survived the historical consequences of this in the diaspora.
Other branches became converso and at a conscious level they forgot about the suffering their ancestors had to endure. This explains how one of the members of the converso branches, Vicente Bejarano, could become a torturer himself. Unlike his Jewish ancestors or his Sephardic relatives outside Spain, he is completely unaware of the rules within Judaism to prevent cruelty to animals. He is a so called torero, a cynical euphemism. Maybe this serves as a good example of to what extent the Inquisition succeeded in alienating descendants of Jewish families from the good parts of their moral precepts. The blood at Vicente's hands is an indirect consequence of the blood shed in the name of the Santa Inquisicion. Let nobody be proud of that!
