Dear Gregg,
I recently received our Beitel genealogy prepared by my uncle Quentin Rooservelt Beitel, the son of William Dennison Beitel and younger brother of my father Remsen Henry Beitel born on Mar. 20, 1917 and died on May 29, 1982. We came upon this website and saw your posting and decided to contact you.
My wife, Ellen, and I have been Christian missionaries in Braunschweig, Germany for the past 6-1/2 years. We were fascinated by the history of our forefather Heinrich Beitel/Beutel from Gross Neundorf, in Upper Silesia, Germany and hope to do some root searching on him sometime this summer.
We just returned from a visit to the States which included a visit to our older son, Remsen Henry Beitel, III (33 years old) on the occasion of the birth of his son Remsen Henry Beitel,IV on February 19, 2001. We also have a younger son, David Alan Beitel, (31 years old) who has a son named Zachary Patrick Beitel (2 years old).
I was born on August 11, 1941 in Miami, Florida. I also have an older sister Barbara Ann Beitel born on April 9, 1939, a younger brother Gerard Paul Beitel born on Aug. 2, 1943, and a younger sister Patricia Beitel born on Aug. 31, 1944. My mother's name is Rita Magdelena Eich.
I assume you have been in contact with my uncle Quentin R. Beitel or his son Quentin Robert Beitel regarding the genealogy work they have done on the Beitel family.
