Bill: This is absolute great information! As you indicate, David Kinney drowned in 1801 and his widow Margaret married Robert Miller. Robert and David and Margaret's children Peter, John, Mathias, Sarah and possibly another daughter moved to Greene Co., OH about 1818. I have a copy of Robert Miller's will where he mentions his debt to the heirs of David Kinney. I have information for 3 or so generations about nearly all of the descendants of David and Margaret. I descend from John, who married Elizabeth Hunt, and lived for a short time in Turbot Twp., Northumberland Co. before moving to Greene Co., OH. Peter married Jane Quinn and was living next to his uncle Jacob Shipman in 1810 Muncy Creek Twp., Lycoming Co. Another daughter of David and Margaret, Elizabeth, married Thomas Hunt in Lycoming Co. and they moved to Cayuga Co., NY. Mathias and Sarah m. after they moved to Greene Co., OH and I have information about them as well.
I have been corresponding with Lynn Kenney. Her husband is a descendant of the Peter Kinney who died 1815 Columbia Co. and she has traced him back to Adrian Kinney b. ca Aug 1736 who is an uncle of Peter Kinney b. 1738. I and her husband participated in the Kinney family tree dna project and we had a perfect match, further confirming our come lines. Bill, I have more information/questions to send, but I am just on my way out of town and won't be able to respond further until Mon. evening. Thank you very much for your response.
Larry Kinney
