Any descendants of Martin Behling and Henrietta Louisa Braatz out there?
Martin Behling was born in Koerlin, Prussia about 1810-1820 and presumably died there. His wife Henrietta (b. 3/1/1819, d. 5/19/1892). She emigrated to the USA in either 1868 or 1873. She was in Chicago with her family until around 1885. Children include:
1. Henry Behling
2. Louisa Behling (b. 1840)
3. Augusta Behling
4. Frederick Behling (b. 1/4/1843)
5. Wilhemina Behling (b. 2/24/1850)
6. Frank Behling (b. 10/7/1853)
7. August Behling (b. 3/1856)
In 1885, she moved to Wilson Twp, Charlevoix County, MI. Frederick, Frank, and August also moved there. They had many children and northern Michigan is now populated with many Behlings. Louisa Behling married a Mr. Neitzer. Augusta Behling married Carl Henk. Wilhemina Behling married Frank Lieb. Any descendants out there doing genealogy work? Any information on Martin Behling or his ancestors?
