Can anybody help I am trying to find out something about my great grandad James Behan from Kildare who married somebody called Ann ??????????? without the Irish Census from the mid 1800's I find I am up the creek without a paddle. I can find them on the UK census for 1881 but before that can find no trace of them and do not have a clue as to where to start on the 1881 it gives James Behan age as 42 and his wife Ann as 37
They have the following children listed James age 12 born Dublin, John age 11 born St Mary Newington Surrey, Caroline age 9 (my grandmother) born St Mary Newington Surrey and Mary age 2 born St Mary Newington Surrey but can find nothing at all about any of them before that date
