So you have a Dr. David Beggs, too. So do I. As far as I know, mine came from Scotland, as a very young child (b. about 1825) with his mother Hellen Beggs before the 1830 census for Madison County, NY. When Hellen Beggs married Malacai Van Duesen, it was mentioned that it was her 2nd marriage (Van Deusen records). Have no idea what her first husband's given name was. David Beggs married in Perry, Lennox Twp, Madison Co., NY to Anna Bigsby(Bixby). There were 4 children listed on the 1850 census. Henry (the oldest), Dana, Hellen and Mary.
Next we find the family in Wisconsin. Now my daughter tells me she found records of them in Iowa. Could we be relatives?
