Sharon,I've spoken with my brother, Dr. David Beggs. He remembers corresponding with you.I asked him about the mysterious "nephew" who brought your grandmother
Edith Piersol Pride to Kansas for burial in 1971.Neither of us knew of this incident, but we have a few guesses. Both David and I think that it is most likely William Beggs, the youngest child of Estella who would have done such a kind act. There is also a chance that it was Wally Hayward, son of Edith Beggs Hayward--daughter of Estella, who was named for your grandmother. All of these people were living in 1971. But we have no answer since both Edith and Bill are deceased. David will ask Wally when he connects with him again.
I did find some genealogical info on the Piersol family on 'rootsweb' under the surname of "Piersol, Sampson,ABT 1764 Beaver Co, PA d.AFT 1834 Mount Pleasant Churchyard".
Under his heading, click on 'Descendancy'.You will find a direct linage from him to Estella and Edith Piersol, including the names of their spouses. Why is this important?Sampson Pierson was a hero in the Revolutionary War and his ancestors can claim membership in the DAR--if that is something of value to you. There is more info on the website "The Pearsall Family."Hope that this is useful to you.Hope that all is well with you and your current family.
