I have Augustus Nathan Smith married Lucrecia Beggs on April 30, 1838 in Union county, Illinois.
Augustus father is Barnabas Smith and his mother's last name was Sutton. I have no more information about these 2.
Lucrecia's parents wereIsaac Beggs born about 1780 in Rowan, NC and died November 18, 1842 in Jonesboror, Union Co, Illinois. Isaac married Polly Dudley on December 3, 1799 in Muhlenber Co, KY.
I have Augustus and his family in Upshur Co, Texas in 1850; Navarro Co, Texas in 1860; and Navarro Co, Tex in 1870. I am intrested especiall in Augustus and Lucrecia's children Elizabeth who married William Jaspar McCaulley and Nathan S Smith who married Rebecca Caroline McCaulley. Rebecca was also married to J. I. Colleps born 1860 in Illinois at some point. These McCaulley's were the children of Dr. Daniel C. McCaulley and Ellen Parker. This is the same Daniel McCaulley that you have a quesy about being in your grandmother's Bible. I have this McCaulley family living in Rankin Co, MS in 1845; Sabine Co, LA in 1850; Navarro Co, TX in 1870, 1880, and 1900; and in Hill Co, Tx in 1910. I have yet to find where Dr. Daniel C. is buried. His son Daniel C., Jr. is buried in Alex, Grady Co, OK.
