I am just beginning a search for my Beggs' roots. My great grandfather was Charles Beggs (1843-1928), born either at Jersey Ville, IL, or Beatrice, NE. There is some confusion concerning which place, since he lived both places. He married
Caroline Rowden (1847-1912). My
grandfather was James Orman Beggs
(1867-1930), born in the State of Illinois.
He married Lilly Loudora Perdue (1874-1960) of Jackson Co., MO. My grandparents lived on farms around Lone Jack, Lee's Summit, Strausburg, Pleasant Hill, Bates City, and Odessa. These are all small towns of MO located in Jackson Co., Cass Co., and Lafayette Co. These locations are near to and east of Kansas City, MO. My mother was Mattie Orman (Beggs) Harris (1901-1994), born at Bates City, MO. My great grandparents are buried at Pleasant Hill, my grandparents at Strausburg, and my parents at Lee's Summit. Would appreciate information on
this Charles Beggs and this James Orman Beggs.
