Beggs 1839 Ireland by Jean Beggs of 768 Hello I am interested in your earliest Beggs, Francis. Our earliest is Joseph Beggs born 1836 in Dublin. He joined the British Army and served in India, upon leaving the service he settled in Manchester and our Beggs branch continues there and also in Australia. But I have found no more info on Joseph. There were not that many Beggs in Dublin at that time, but I don't think he was related to the better off Beggs, as he joined the British Army, usually only done then (in Ireland, at least) because of possible starvation.
