Hi Linda. I am trying to find information on my GGGrandfather William Beggs. He was possibly born in Scotland before 1862; migrating to Canada at some point where he wed and had at least one son, my GGrandfather Joseph. Joseph was born abt. 13MAR1862 in "Eng Canada". I have no name for a wife/mother just that she too was born in "Eng Canada". The above info was taken from the 1910 Federal Census of Oceana County, Michigan.
I'm assuming it was Joseph who gave the information, but can't confirm this.
Joseph shows up in Colfax Twp., Walkerville, Oceana, Michigan around 1895, but I can find nothing before this year on him. He wed Clara(h)Marie Green 31AUG1904 in Colfax Twp. (b. 21JAN1887) and they had the following four children:
Francis "Frank" Leon b. 2NOV1904 (Shotgun wedding???)
Archibald "Archie" Mclean b. 25DEC1906
Thelma Marie b. July 1909
Madeline "Midge" Lee b. 1JAN1911
Joseph died 3NOV1911 in Colfax Twp., Walkerville, Michigan, and is buried here.
He purchased two 40 acre parcels of land in Colfax, but I can only find what became of one. He sold it to a Samuel Steele from Indiana.
I have information on my Gramps and siblings, and their families, but nothing on Joseph before this. I have been hitting my head for so long on William and Joseph that I'm about ready to give up on them!!!
Any help is needed, wanted, and will be greatly appreciated!!!
