I have a James Beggs, of Rockingham Co. VA, m. Mary Custer, b. 09 June 1776, m. 28 August 1794, Rockingham Co., VA. There were seven children in this family.
Two known daughters, Margaret Kuster Beggs, b. 16 February 1803, and Susanna L. Beggs, b. 29 May 1810. Susanna m. John Hilditch Armstrong, and Margaret m. Thomas Armstrong.
These were daughters of James? Beggs of Indiana. They married brothers, John Hilditch Armstrong and Thomas Armstrong, descendants of Col. John Armstrong. Related to George Armstrong Custer through the Beggs girls mother.
According to the THE BOOK OF BEGGS, the mother of Susanna L. b. 1810 and Margaret K. b. 1805 was Mary Custer, daughter of Paul Custer (Kuster). Their father was James of Rockingham Co. VA. He is the brother of Charles Beggs. Charles, James and brothers John and George went to Clark Co. Indiana together.
