I have just come across your message about your Beggs family and am hoping that you may be able to help me.
I've just descovered that my GGGG Grandmother was Margaret Beggs. She was married to John McCubbin and they had a son William (plenty of others as well!) who married Margaret McKie. I don't really have a great deal of information about dates or where infact she was born although I think it would have been around 1800 (there son william died in 1893 aged 70) It's possible they may have lived in the Stranraer/Portpatrick area around the middle of the 1800's as that is where most of that side of my family came from. Have you come across them whilst doing your own research?
