My gggrandparents, James and Elizabeth Lusk Beggs, emigrated from Co. Antrim, IRE, to Prescott Co., Ont., c. 1842. They had both been born in Belfast. James mother is believed to have been Mary Maxwell Beggs. My ggrandfather, Robert Beggs, was born near Glasgow c. 1824, then the family moved back to Ireland c. 1828. The family inlcuding about 10 children moved to Canada and settled in the Hawkesbury area of the Ottawa Valley c. 1842. Robert married Martha Carey, d. of Thomas and Ellinor West Dixon Carey, c. 1853 and had ten children.

I am interested in hearing from any Beggs families either from Canada or from Ireland or Scotland.
