I've pretty much ran into a dead end with my research. Incredible, but no one kept any records in my family. All I know is my grandfather, Arthur Beggs, was born in Dongola, Il on Dec. 15,1900. He supposedly had a brother John, unknown where he went, and thier father was also a John who was a stone mason or tombstone engraver, or something like that. My grandfather moved to Metropolis and there are supposedly some Beggs there but I've never met them myself. My greatgrandfather also had a brother but no one knows anything about him that's still living. Also, my grandfather Arthur's real name was Milly A. Beggs, he never claimed that, and he went by the nickname of "Scotty".
