James Murphy Beggs was born in Rockbridge,VA abt 1830, married Tamar Porter 1855, Indiana.
He operated a wagon making business in Rockbridge (Natural Bridge),VA, moved to Gentry Co.,MO. Sons Samuel & James William founded the Beggs Motor Company in Kansas City, where they built Beggs circus wagons, and later the Beggs Motor Car (1921). Other children John A, Lydia, Laura and Charles G. Unable to trace siblings, parents of James M. Beggs.
