I am doing research on Wayne County Sutherlands. My ancestor was named Viola Sutherland (1860-1888). her parents were James C. Sutherland (1816-1865) and Talitha Woody. Viola married Miles Davis. Their Children included Beason Davis (who died young). Also floating around Wayne County was a man named Beason Sutherland who died in 1900. I have Isaac N. Beeson as bondsman for the 18 Jan 1823 marriage of Jonathan Sutherland and Polly Washam. Obviously, there is a connection here between the Sutherlands and the Beesons in Wayne County but I haven't been able to figure it out!
