Gail is probably right about them coming from the
Pennsylvania Uniontown Beesons. Unfortunately, the
fact that these old families named their children
old family names sometimes complicates things. I have
Edward Jackson Beeson b. April 26 1817 who had 3
boys, one of them a Martin. He, Martin lived in Ohio,
but many of these Ohio Beesons, went west to Indiana, ILL,
and Iowa etc. Usually the southern Beesons that wound
up going west were from Capt Edward of REv war and they
usually went by "Beason". The only Martins I have are from the
Richard Jr, Henry Martin side of the Beesons, ie the
Pennsylvania, Ohio beesons. I would start looking at Edward Jackson
Beeson 's, children. They are H Francis Beeson, Isaac,
N Beeson, and Martin. Francis and Isaac may have gone
out west and had your grandpa out there in Iowa. It would not
be at all unusual for one or both of them to name a son
after their brother Martin.
