My line is through Alfred Beeson, son of Darius and brother of your Ruth. If you learn anything, I would appreciate receiving the information. This past Monday, (Nov 10, 1997) I was in Wichita, Kansas, so spent the morning in the Quaker archives at Friends University which is the repository for mid-America Quaker records. The Beesons had been active Quakers and were frequently mentioned in Monthly Meeting reports. I wanted to find specific references to Darius in the Indiana and Iowa records but found none. I found references to his siblings, Igal, Amaziah, Isabelle and Nancy but none to him. Obviously he and his family moved from Indiana to Iowa because his children were born in Iowa (mostly in Henry county). I conclude from my search that the Quaker ties were no longer strong in Indiana and Iowa and we will have to look elsewhere for more information about Darius.
